Lazydays reaches agreement with American Flat Track, to assist international riders at Harley-Davidson DAYTONA TT presented by Politis & Matovina

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (March 16, 2017) – American Flat Track (AFT) announced today that Lazydays RV will provide a pair of luxury motorhomes for a pair of international competitors competing in Thursday’s Harley-Davidson DAYTONA TT presented by Politis and Matovina, the opening round of the 2017 season.

Ferran Cardus and Franc Serra, the top two finishers in the Spain’s inaugural RFME Cope de Espana de Flat Track championship in 2016, were awarded rides at Daytona with support from Ohlins and Bell Helmets by virtue of their 1-2 finish in the Spanish championship, respectively. It will be the first competition in America for both athletes.

Cardus has been training with 2013 Grand National Champion Brad Baker in the run up to Daytona and will compete aboard a Honda CRF450R. Serra, runner-up in the 2016 Spanish national championship, will pilot a Honda CRF450R previously fielded by multi-time Grand National Champ Jared Mees at Daytona.

“While Ferran and Franc are joining us at Daytona, we are happy to know they will be able to relax in comfort between sessions in a Lazydays RV,” said Cameron Gray, COO of AFT Events. “Having a pair of leading international riders definitely increases the prestige of AFT competition, and another important sign of the positive direction in which our sport is heading.”

Lazydays RV was established in 1976 in Tampa, Fla., with $500 and a pair of travel trailers. The company has five locations in Arizona, Colorado and Florida and boasts the nation’s largest selection of RV brands.

American Flat Track will kick off the 2017 season during Daytona’s Bike Week festivities on Thursday, March 16 with the all-new Harley-Davidson DAYTONA TT presented by Politis & Matovina, built inside the tri-oval at Daytona International Speedway. The DAYTONA TT will mark the dawning of a new era for America’s most historic form of motorcycle racing, and the “World Center of Racing” will serve as the first battleground for the great American war between Harley-Davidson and Indian Motorcycles in 2017. Tickets for the DAYTONA TT are now on sale and can be purchased at www.daytonainternationalspeedway.com.
