Texter and Stollings On Fire at Calistoga!

Chad Cose is fast qualifier in the AFT Twins presented by Vance & Hines division at Calistoga Speedway this evening aboard his Indian Scout FTR750, with Indian-mounted Jared Mees, Davis Fisher and Brad Baker just a tenth or two back.

But it’s Husqvarna/JCS Racing’s Shayna Texter and Roof Systems Honda-mounted Kevin Stollings that are raising eyebrows in California wine country this Saturday evening. The pair are not only one-two in AFT Singles qualifying but are fifth and sixth fastest overall on the evening – meaning they are as fast or faster than all but the top four AFT Twins riders.

“Just out for a mellow Saturday afternoon ride,” Texter said with a laugh and a smile after her qualifying session. “The track is really good right now, and my Husqvarna FC 450 is working great… Just need to get good starts later this evening and keep things rolling.”

“Things are clicking for us today so far,” said Stollings. “The track is pretty hooked up and I’m feeling really comfortable on my Honda. The Woody Kyle engine I’m running is really strong; hoping the bad luck we had last week – when my shock’s valving came apart – stays away tonight.”

While Stollings ended up ninth last weekend at the Texas Half-Mile after his rear suspension issue, Texter is on a serious roll, nearly winning the AFT Singles Main event at Texas Motor Speedway after hounding race-winner Morgen Mischler nearly the entire race.
