10 Training and Freeman Racing Join Forces For 2018 American Flat Track Singles Campaign With Corey Alexander

The following is from Corey Alexander...

MotoAmerica racer Corey Alexander joins seasoned Flat Track racer Johnny Lewis to contest thirteen rounds of the American Flat Track Singles championship in 2018. Alexander will be competing aboard the 10 Training Freeman Racing backed Husqvarna FC450 machine at eastern United States based events with support from RARacing and #RideHVMC. Team owner Johnny Lewis, a veteran American Flat Track racer will also be making a semi-full time return to racing as he competes in the twins class. The season begins for Corey, Johnny, and the Lewis family on Thursday, March 15th at Daytona International Speedway for the Daytona TT.

Alexander stated, “For me, sitting out from racing in 2017 - for the first time in almost ten years - was incredibly difficult.  When the opportunity arose to race in American Flat Track this season, I sat down and ran through some of the numbers and it made much more sense than continuing to pursue road racing. I knew it would be a big challenge to make this transition but with the support of Johnny and 10 Training, I’ve already made great progress, and I’m excited to see how 2018 goes for both of us! It’s been an amazing experience so far and I’m ready to go racing. Stay tuned to CycleWorld.com to stay up to date with my progress!” Alexander will write a series of articles for Cycle World, chronicling his 2018 campaign.

Having road raced professionally in MotoAmerica since 2008, Alexander’s 2018 racing campaign will be his first taste of American Flat Track racing, with precious little time on a flat track prepped machine - ever. Alexander is now fully recovered from back surgery with the dedicated support of New Jersey based Four3 Performance over the past winter. In the time since the surgery Alexander has spent recent weeks leading up to Daytona working alongside Johnny Lewis at his 10 Training facility in Center Hill, Florida. In conjunction with Cycle World Magazine and 10 Training, Alexander will document his experiences and steep learning curve throughout his unique asphalt to dirt transition.

Team owner Johnny Lewis adds “When Corey called me prior to the New Year and said he was considering the transition from MotoAmerica to American Flat Track competition, I knew we would need to work hard. Competing at the opening round of the American Flat Track championship at the Daytona TT in March, I told him it was going to be tough but it wasn’t completely out of reach. Just 3 weeks ago, Corey pulled into the 10 Training facility and we put him through a pretty brutal boot camp where he continually impressed not only myself but others along the way. It’s tough even for seasoned veterans of the series to consistently make the main event but I know Corey has some amazing natural talent on two wheels, and the ambition to push through the challenges he will face. I believe he will put in a great performance at the opening AFT round that will make 10 Training proud. I’m excited to see where 2018 takes our team!”

For the 2018 season, Corey Alexander brings several of his personal sponsors from road racing to flat track, including: MJRS Freeman Racing, RARacing, Hudson Valley Motorcycles, Arai Helmets, Spidi Leathers, #RideHVMC, Gemini Technologies, Defy All Odds Apparel, Saddlemen, Sals Pizza & Pasta, and Four3 Performance Lab. About 10 Training

Founded in 2015 by professional flat track/supermoto racer Johnny Lewis, 10 Training was born with the idea that every motorcycle rider is unique, and must be treated so in order to reach their highest potential. 10 Training programs are custom fit – on and off the bike - to meet the students riding goals. From beginners to professionals, there are multiple package options available anywhere from one-day to five-day programs that have smaller group sizes, often just one to three riders, in order to provide a more personal, one-on-one approach with students. 10 Training’s facility is centrally located in Ocala, Florida between multiple locations for various disciplines of riding: flat track (both short track & TT), motocross, supermoto, and off-road training.
