Brad Baker Looks to Rebound at Springfield after Digging Early Hole at Daytona to Begin 2014 AMA Pro Flat Track Season

Written by Andrew Swain:

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (April 2, 2014) – In the offseason, Brad Baker inked a deal with arguably the most sought-after race team in the AMA Pro Flat Track arena – the Factory Harley-Davidson team. In a little over a month, Baker will compete aboard his XR750 as he intends to rebound with a solid finish at the Springfield Mile following his lackluster Daytona effort during last month’s season opening rounds at DAYTONA Flat Track.

Baker’s Race 1 DNF and his 11th place finish in Race 2 set him all the way back to 16th in the overall Grand National Championship point standings, a position he’s not familiar with when beginning a new season.

“I had bad luck at Daytona, that’s for sure,” said Baker. “I got bad luck there last year even though my finishes were better but this kind of thing happens sometimes when taking off with a new team. I look at my Daytona failures as a great opportunity for me to rebound and perform my very best. My poor finishes at Daytona will definitely motivate me and have me ready for Springfield next month.”

If anyone can come back and be a consistent top contender, it’s Baker. The young Dryad, Wash. product knows how hard it is to protect the coveted No.1 plate and he has 13 more rounds to prove that he has what it takes to do so.

On May 25, 2014 Baker will have the opportunity to showcase his talent on the all new Factory Harley-Davidson XR750 in front of what is expected to be a packed house filled with motorcycle racing enthusiasts at the Illinois State Fairgrounds, in Springfield, Ill. for the Springfield Mile.
