DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (June 23, 2026) - Progressive American Flat Track, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, returns to the Magic Mile on Independence Day as DuQuoin State Fairgrounds hosts a full day of motorcycle racing, live music, family fun, and America’s 250th birthday celebration.
For fans new to the sport, Progressive American Flat Track is America’s original extreme sport, featuring the nation’s top professional dirt track motorcycle racers battling bar-to-bar on purpose-built race bikes. On a Mile track like DuQuoin, riders draft in tight packs, slide through the corners, and race inches apart at speeds of more than 140 mph.
The result is a spectacle unlike anything else in motorsports: thunderous motorcycles, close-quarters racing, last-lap strategy, and the possibility of a photo finish every time the pack comes to the checkered flag.
The professional racing action will feature the stars of Mission AFT SuperTwins and KICKER AFT Singles, giving local fans a chance to see a national championship event up close at one of the sport’s most historic venues.
Fans are encouraged to come early and make a full day of it. The City of Du Quoin’s free Fourth of July celebration will also take place at the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds beginning at noon, celebrating America’s 250th birthday with food trucks, unique vendors and shopping, a craft show, kids rides, live music by The Hoot N Holler Band, and a massive fireworks display in the evening.
With multiple events happening on the fairgrounds throughout the day, the 2026 Fourth of July celebration is expected to be one of the biggest holiday gatherings in Southern Illinois.
Whether you are a lifelong race fan or simply looking for a memorable Fourth of July with family and friends, the DuQuoin Mile offers a rare combination of national-level professional sport, small-town celebration, live entertainment, and patriotic fireworks.
Bring your family, friends, and your patriotic spirit for an unforgettable July 4 at the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds.
