Progressive AFT’s New York Short Track Race Coverage Reaches Peak of 658,000 Viewers on NBCSN

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (August 27, 2021) – Progressive AFT is pleased to announce that its Mission Foods New York Short Track presented by Mad Max Indian Motorcycle doubleheader event produced record-breaking viewership numbers for its premiere NBCSN telecast.

Preliminary linear viewership numbers from New York Short Track I & II on NBCSN as reported by NBC:

  • Largest single-show audience to ever watch Progressive American Flat Track with a quarter-hour peak of 658,000 viewers, an increase of 157% over the all-time viewership record for an AFT telecast.

  • 460,000 households tuned into Progressive American Flat Track.

  • 574,000 viewers tuned in for the New York Short Track doubleheader event, with the New York Short Track I audience averaging a staggering 395,000 viewers. This marks a 160% percent increase over the previous viewership record set in 2020.

With its iconic Springfield Short Track and Mile events ahead, as well as the historic Sacramento Mile and Charlotte Half-Mile finale, the impressive growth demonstrated at the season’s midpoint is surely a signal of continued growth for America’s Original Extreme Sport.

Progressive AFT returns to NBCSN on Sunday, August 29 with one of its most exciting events on the circuit: the Law Tigers Peoria TT presented by Country Saloon. The premiere telecast is slated to begin at 8:00 p.m. ET (5:00 p.m. PT) following the broadcast of the MotoGP British Grand Prix.
