Jake Lewis
At first glance, the tall and lanky Jake Lewis looks more like a basketball player than an elite motorcycle racer. And while the Kentucky Wildcats fan is actually a pretty decent cager, his skills on two wheels are rare.
Lewis started riding at three and stormed up through the amateur and professional ranks during a truly impressive rise. He won 20 dirt track amateur national titles, took the 2006 AMA Dirt Track Fast Brain Award, was named 2009 Youth Rider of the Year, and then earned the 2011 AMA Road Race Horizon Award.
In 2012, he won the AMA Pro SuperSport East crown, and was named Daytona SportBike Rookie of the Year in 2013. In 2014, he was the Daytona SportBike championship runner-up, and he earned AMA Superbike Rookie of the Year honors in 2015. He’s since collected a number of additional roadracing honors, including the 2021 MotoAmerica Stock 1000 title.
Lewis’ natural ability, leverage, and expertise turning both right and left make him a serious threat on the rare occasions he’s free to line up on the Parts Unlimited AFT Singles grid for a TT. In three combined TT starts in ‘18 and ‘19, the Kentuckian collected fourth-, fifth-, and eighth-place results while teasing the speed to do considerably better than that.
