SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (August 13, 2018) – The Rookie Class of ’79 and Friends, American Flat Track’s Official Charity, has established a support fund for AFT Singles competitor Alec Muth, who was injured at the Black Hills Half-Mile on August 7 and who passed away on the morning of August 16.

Muth, who hails from Wisconsin, remains hospitalized in the Rapid City area. His family is with him and will be staying in Rapid City through his recovery.

“Alec’s family could certainly use our prayers and support,” said Class of ’79 organizer Charlie Roberts. “Alec’s dad Mark wants everyone to know how much they appreciate the love and support shown to their family over the last week. Our organization has set up a support fund, and we’re also teamed up with Jason Cole of Fusion Racewear, who’s designed a custom t-shirt for Alex to help raise funds for Alec’s recovery and for the family. Please use the links provided to help us help Alec!”

The Rookie Class of ’79 and Friends is a 501(C)3 charity, and all donations are tax-deductable.

Donations for Muth’s hospitalization and care can be made electronically on the Class of ’79’s website. Fans can donate via check, too; make checks payable to Class of ’79, indicate that your donation is for Alec Muth, and mail to 3989 Springer Lane, Springfield, IL 62711. Please note that every dollar that’s donated directly will go to the Muth family.
